Here is proof that my boys really can play nicely together. It was so pleasant when I looked out the back door and found Austin and Cameron sitting together, quietly drawing in their books. This went on for a while and it was refreshing. The boys are at that age where Cameron wants everything Austin has and Austin likes to provoke Cameron some times. It gets old and annoying real quick.

Austin turned 6!
Today is Austin's birthday. Man, I can't believe he is 6 years old. He is growing up so fast! This morning we started a new tradition where we take the birthday boy out for breakfast. I am all about traditions and love the idea of having a birthday breakfast date. Austin also chose to go bowling and invited a couple of friends to go. They had a great time. We then came back home and played in the backyard for a while. This evening after the boys showered and got ready for bed we all snuggled on the couch for a movie, The Spiderwick Chronicles, and watched it together. It's days like this that I love. I love spending time with my family.
Austin - You are such a wonderful son. You are thoughtful, respectful, kind, affectionate and smart. I appreciate you so much. You always joke with me that you are special because you were born first. You are special! This family would not be the same without you. You are a great example to your brothers and to me. I love you so much. Happy Birthday Son!

Ladies Night Out
Wednesday night was a treat. In the company of some great friends I was able to go see Tim McGraw in concert. Ironically, Tim McGraw was the very first performer I saw in concert nearly 14 years ago with a couple of my good friends and so it brought back a lot of memories getting to do it again. Our tickets were for the lawn section at the Amphitheatre, which was really fun. We could really stretch out and still had a good view of the stage.
To kick start the night we had dinner at BJ's. The best part was the pizzookie platter that we scarfed up in no time. Afterwards I almost lost it when Rochelle stopped at Target and pretended that she was going to buy some teeny tiny underwear to throw on stage. That was hilarious!! Once we arrived to the Amphitheatre (safe & sound!) we had some time to just hang out, people watch and take millions of pictures.

The opening act for the night was Jason Aldean. I wasn't sure how many songs of his I would recognize, so I was surprised to find out that I knew most of them. He was a great performer. Of course Tim was amazing. I love all of his songs and it was so fun just singing and dancing along with out a care in the world. I was very happy when he sung one of my all time favorite's, "I like it, I love it". The concert ended at 11:00 p.m. so it was a late night but I had so much fun and I look forward to being able to do something like this again!

Milestones
Normally I look forward to all the milestones that a baby reaches as he gets older like sitting, crawling, walking, etc... With Andrew however, I am not eagerly awaiting these milestones because that means he won't be my little baby anymore. He is such a wonderful baby. I love being able to still cradle him and have him lay still in my arms with out wanting to get away. It feels like with the blink of an eye he will be off and wanting to do his own thing like my other boys. So I guess I am trying to savor his infancy as long as I can because I know it is almost over.

Absolutely No Self Control

So last week I went upstairs to get showered and ready for the day and when I was done I came down to this nice little surprise. Cameron got into the box of Fruit by the Foots and helped himself to as many as his little heart was content. I counted 6 empty wrappers. That is on top of the 2 I had already given him that morning. He spent a good amount of time in time out for this and was banned from anymore Fruit by the Foots. The funny thing is that there was absolutely no sneakiness going on. He layed them all out to show me. If it had been Austin I think I would have found the empty wrappers hidden in random places around the house. Good thing I haven't caught Austin doing this.
