“Choose a companion carefully and prayerfully;
and when you are married, be fiercely loyal one to
another. Priceless advice comes from a small framed
plaque I once saw in the home of an uncle and aunt.
It read, “Choose your love; love your choice.”
—President Thomas S. Monson
I was so happy when I came across this quote the other day. Just a couple of days prior to me stumbling upon it I asked a dear friend, someone I look up to, what piece of advice she could give me on how to keep a marriage strong through all of the years, and she said two things:
1. Always treat your spouse as if you're still dating; and
2. Be fiercely loyal
Those two words, "fiercely loyal" have forever been etched into my mind! 12 years ago I married my best friend, and today he is still my best friend! I love him with all of my heart. I consider myself lucky to have chosen the man I did and I still, and forever will, love my choice!
